A & B Day Animal Puppets
B Day Baking Day!
We made Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies and as the children will tell you they were delicious! Here are some pictures of our baking adventures from Friday. Thank you to all of our volunteers who came in to assist and a HUGE thank you to all of the parents/students who were asked to donate ingredients to our centre this month!
Centre's and Free Play (A & B Days)
Here are some pictures of the free play centres that students chose, including:
- Math - measuring the room and friends, working with addition and subtraction puzzles, using probability spinners, playing go fish with numbers, etc;
- Literacy - where students are writing the room, writing stories about their drawings and practicing the weekly letters we were working on E and F, sorting popcorn words, as well as visiting the classroom library to read to themselves or a friend;
- House - where you can see some students pretending to bake;
- Sand - where students are measuring and pouring substances;
- Playdough - where they are using their fine motor skills to craft pictures and letters, etc.;
Class Inquiry: Animals & Their Families
Both the A and B day classes have been very interested in learning about animals and animal familities so this is a topic that we will be exploring further as the weeks go on.
Students will have the opportunity to create and explore using a variety of learning opportunities and centres in our classroom. Some of these centres will be a Veteranarian's Office in our Dramatic Play area, creating maps of zoos, exploring differing habitats in our sensory areas (sand and water), outdoor exploration to look for evidence of animals and their families around CH Bray and more!

Our Oviparous Animal Inquiry
For the past two weeks in class we have been learning about oviparous animals (animals that lay eggs). We estimated how large our egg would grow, predicting what might be in the egg that is growing. We also discussed standard and non-standard measurement. This has been a very exciting time in our class as our egg has grown and hatched.
